It bothered me a little the first time the teacher didn't change it, but took full responsibility that I need to teach her. Just like if she had messy hair, I needed to figure out how to keep it neat. When she came home with snot on her face (when she was two) I was a little sad nobody wiped it but I was not going to confront the teacher about that either. I just kept teaching LO how to wipe her nose. And invented the toddler Kleenex belt. DD insists on putting her shoes on all by herself and they often wind up on the wrong feet. It doesn't bug her so I let it go. </p> <p>Her preschool starts every day outside and they stay out for about half the time. I think they do that so the parents are responsible for taking the kids to the potty and then dressing them for the weather before class starts. They wanted to foster independence and self-care, so they didn't always jump in to fix things if the kid did them wrong. They would often make a comment in a playful/nice way, just to make the kid aware. But they firmly believed that if you fixed it for the kid everytime, they'd get discouraged from helping themselves &amp; learning to do it correctly.</p> <p>The only time I thought it was a little ridiculous was when she came home wearing two pairs of pants, her shirt was on backwards, and her coat was on inside out. But even then, I didn't really care. So i would be worried about him hurting himself with shoes or boots on the wrong feet. That isn't very nice to let a kid walk around with improper(ly fitting) footwear, so yeah, I would have a problem with it. I don't view that as very caring.
