to tone it down is no problem and they shouldn't charge you if you're unhappy. the same thing happened to me last year, i called the salon, explained very calmly, and they were very accommodating and had me come in that day. she toned the roots so they blended better, it and blew it straight, no charge, and she wouldn't accept a tip. they want to keep you coming back and it's worth it for them to fix it if you're not satisfied.

Have them fix it! Essentially you are a walking business card for them, they want you to look good- so they should fix it for free. I had my hair fixed once and I ended up re-tipping the lady that did it because it was Xmas eve...

Yes they should fix it for free. In the past, I've had the checkout person see how unhappy I was with my cut and they offer to rebook me with someone else to fix it for free.

You should call the salon and explain your issues with the color, and see what they say. Honestly, I'm surprised you didn't march right back in after going to your car, since it seems its bad enough that you would be so horrified right away. I'm shocked you drove home.
See what they say... Most salons would offer a fix for free, or if its a case of a toner that the stylist should have done, ordinarily this IS something they should have charged you for, but in this instance should be done free of charge. In any case, you should be as nice as possible when you call, because you will catch more flies with honey than you will with vinegar, aka no one wants to do a bitchy girl any favors. ;)

Yes! Tell the manager how unhappy you are. It's happened a few times to me where I get home and cry lol.

I would also purchase some purple shampoo for home. It's difficult to go from dark brown to blonde, and in all honesty, your stylist should have done it gradually. It is almost impossible to go in one shot without being brassy. Using purple shampoo at home 1-2 times a week will help remove a lot of the brass, too.

I've been getting my hair colored blonde for years, and they honestly shouldn't have let you leave like that. Going from brown to blonde can take time, and my hair dresser has used two toners on me before to get the color just right. It's relatively inexpensive for them to use (from what she has said) and it's never been added to my price, it's just part of the service. I would tell them that once you went into the natural light you realized it was very yellow and ask them to correct it using a toner. Good luck!

I would think they would fix it for free. this seems like a pretty common thing so I would think it wouldn't be a problem to have them tone it down a little.

So I've been saving for months to get my hair dues BC I knew it was gonna be expensive to get my hair blonde ( I dyed it dark brown) I went yesterday and played 150 for a color correction and the color is nice and I told them. I liked it and left. But when I got outside and to my house it looks BRIGHT and yellowish. Should I call the salon to see if they can run some toner in it to calm it down. Its really bother me BC its so bright and I spent a lot on it and want it to look nice! Also will they charge me? Budget wise I cannot afford to invest any more money in my hair! I don't want to be a bother or be any trouble for them I just want to get it toned down.
