I don't know if I'd be mad as much as sad that they didn't even see if I was okay.

i'd be upset, but it would probably be because of the whole situation and being frustrated that my key wasn't working either. i would probably mention it off-handedly and see if they noticed! they probably didn't though!

With the cold weather, some people have been having a hard time with locks freezing. Is that what happened?

I wouldn't be mad. If you had tried to signal to them that something was wrong and they kept on going, that would be one thing. But it sounds like they just didn't realize you needed help. I would also think that my friend in my church parking lot with other people around is fine--it's not like a dark alley way in a bad part of town.

I would definitely be upset. I still make sure my friends get into their cars/houses okay when dropping them off. It's just the right/caring thing to do. SO yeah, it would upset me, but I honestly don't know if I'd say anything. I am really bad with any kind of confrontation.

I'd give them the benefit of a doubt - it's dark and cold, they probably just were trying to get in their cars as quickly as possible and didn't even see you were having trouble. I don't think you can be mad at someone for not helping when you didn't ask for help. I know that asking for help is something I used to struggle with, but it's so much better than just wishing someone would see that you need help and getting frustrated and angry when they don't.

I would probably be "mad" in my head but never say something. I always try to make sure my friends are safely in their cars, cars start, etc. especially after dark + in the winter!

@tarariggins: I find people to be less aware/ intuitive than I, so I wonder - did they know you were really struggling? Then... yeah, that's not awesome. I am glad you had other help! That could be scary/ dangerous or more stressful somewhere else.

I would maybe find a way to mention the situation to them. Something just like, "You can't believe what happened to me after church". If anything at least maybe next time they will think about stopping to help.

@.twist.: @tarariggins: I guess it's hard for me to fathom when people just leave like that when I'm soooooo conscious of safety and making sure others are safe (especially women)! So since I would NEVER drive off if I saw a friend outside their car until I was sure they were safely inside (at LEAST, and I'd probably wait until I knew they started the car fine too), I get upset when friends don't pay me the same courtesy!

@runnerd: Yeah, I considered that. It still could be the reason. But I left the building a lot earlier than they did and was crouching down on the pavement banging on my key to try to get it to go in. Maybe they just wasn't paying much attention to me? Oh well! It took awhile but I got home safely!

I'd probably be a little annoyed that they drove off.

I know, personally, I always make sure my friends get home (and into their house) safely before just driving off! So, if I ever noticed someone not able to get into their car, I would at least ask if there was anything I could do!

I'd imagine that they didn't even realize you were struggling. If you asked for help or told them that your key wasn't working and they still drove off then yes, I'd be pretty upset. If they just saw you at your car and left I don't think it's really a big deal.

I would definitely be upset about this! I was always the friend who was extra vigilant about safety, so if I was dropping someone off, I would always wait in my car until I saw they got safely inside where ever they were going. Or if I carpooled with friends and I dropped them back off at their car, I waited until they were in their car and I could tell they were able to start their car fine before driving off. I can't imagine seeing a friend struggle to get INTO their car and not at least stick around and wait with them to make sure they stay safe!!! So yes - if I was the one struggling and I had friends just drive off, I'd be peeved (unless your other friends were already on the scene and the friends that drove off knew you had people with you already)!

After church last night I walked to my car in the parking lot and could not open my car because my key decided to stop working. I was there for awhile alone, freezing, and struggling to figure out how to get inside my car. Some of my friends saw me struggling and just drove off. Finally, I did get some help from some other friends. It took 4 men who all tried different methods, One of them had a wife who actually prayed over my key and boom it finally opened. But I just can't get over the "friends" who just drove away and left me there.

Would you be mad?

And also, has that kind of thing ever happened to your car or is that something that only happens to me? haha
