Like others say, I'd mention it so the day care can check if there's some hazard around - a broken toy, or something damaged in the play yard.

I would have texted as well. I wouldn't be mad, but likely there is a broken toy that she needs to be on the lookout for.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I know, I felt soo bad! We text after hours so that is what I ended up doing.
@BadgerMom: That's exactly what I thought too. I feel better that you thought the same. I did text her and she thinks she found a loose screw on the train table he plays with often.

I would definitely bring it up and show your provider the cuts. Those look more like puncture or cut wounds than run of the mill scratches. Could your LO or someone else have gotten a hold of scissors? Maybe one of the toys broke and has a sharp edge? I think your DCP should be on the lookout for the offending object and without you bringing it to their attention they may not know.

Poor baby! I’d notify immediately however you typically communicate to her after hours. My son goes to a daycare center and I use email for after-hour concerns.

So I picked DS up on weds and when we got home we started dinner and we were singing and clapping our hands and he said "ow" when he clapped so I checked his hand and he had a small cut... I then checked him all over and he had another small cut/scratch under his arm (see photos)... he had a small scratch on his face a few days prior but I hadn't thought anything of it... but these two concerned me.

Our daycare provider clearly hadn't noticed bc she didn't mention them to me at pick up.

What would you do? Would you send a text or call or email immediately? Would you wait and ask the next day? Or would you let it go?

Sorry if the photos are huge and if they are sideways..... not sure how to change them quickley
