Our old apartment had a dishwasher but no laundry, our townhouse has laundry but no dishwasher. Our last house didn't have one, and it was such a PITA -- especially on holidays. And DH isn't the most attentive when it comes to cleaning a dish, so I would always have to go back through and rewash -- sometimes after everything had been put away as I was pulling dishes out to set the table for company or something.
