I would add an online review if you have enough positive things to say about them. Current reviews are very helpful to a business.

I would do a nice card, have your son make a drawing or craft for her (maybe stick a picture of him on it, if you want), and a gift card to Target or Costco (i.e. places you know she will frequent).

I would definitely do a gift, since they've had your son for two years and presumably love him. A heartfelt card and either a gift card, plant, or bottle of wine (depending on how well you know her) is probably what I would do.

I think if things have been warmer since you delivered the news, a note expressing your thanks for taking good care of your son for the last two years, and a small gift (coffee, book, journal, small framed artwork, etc.) would be greatly appreciated.

I would not do a gift but I think a card where you express your appreciation for the love and care he has received would be appropriate.

DS has been going to the same daycare since he was 6 months old (he'll be 2.5 in January) but things have not been going great lately at daycare, so we decided to switch him to a preschool. It wasn't anything bad, really, but it just seemed like he wasn't thriving in that environment for a lot of reasons and there was a point that we thought he might get kicked out for hitting (I don't think discipline is her strong suit.) She can also be very condescending when talking to me.

Anyway, she was very upset when I gave our 30 day notice because she said she had no idea we were looking to switch. I told her I didn't want to bring it up unless we knew for sure. Anyway, things were a little cold for a while during drop off and pick up but seem to be better. We are coming up on the 30 day mark and am wondering, do I get her a gift as a thank you? Would that be inappropriate? I know this is going to be hard for her because she loves DS so much and I feel a little guilty about that but, ultimately, I have to do what is right for my son.
Sorry for the ramble...this has been an ordeal.
