@scg00387: Good point. I was wondering about that. The one we want is sold from a third party seller. The other two are sold by Amazon.

I wouldn't buy a carseat or a stroller because I would want to know I have the warranty (at least if it's a pricey one). I thought about that for a stroller too; considered getting it for $100-200 less on Craigslist, but I hear that a lot of the manufacturers are pretty good on customer service if anything goes wrong even YEARS later, so I'd rather pay more for the peace of mind that I could go back to them for help.

Be careful that if you buy off Amazon that it is direct from Amazon - a lot of the times its someone selling 'fulfilled by amazon' that shows up the on the main page and they are just like ebay sellers - not usually authorized.

I wouldn't buy a carseat, but that is about it - we bought our Britax off Amazon, directly, and some of the foam was damaged. Britax shipped a new one when I called within days!. We saved over $200 by buying our stroller in an older (new) model off ebay so worth it to us for that!

I do like ebay but not for baby stuff/ Generally for baby gear I prefer to go with Amazon or an authorized dealer just in case I have any issues with it

If I could get the item significantly less on ebay, I'd be more likely to buy it there than from a retailer, especially for something like a stroller seat. The likelihood that you would need to use the warranty is less for an item like that, and I would opt for the savings (if it were a good deal cheaper) over the risk of having to replace it later.

My husband and I were considering bidding on an item of baby gear on Ebay. Though, it occurred to me that most likely the warranty would be voided if we did so as Ebay is not an authorized seller of the product. I emailed the company, and they confirmed it. I am thinking that we would be better off buying the product off Amazon instead. It is a Orbit G2 Stroller Seat for what it's worth.
