One of my friends finds the sweetest most adorable vintage sheets for her kids' beds. I have like 4 crib sheets from consignment shops that I have used, and all of them looked like they were rarely used, if ever. We mostly use her new sheets because I liked the patterns/colors better, but we have used the consignent ones no problem. Honestly until reading this thread I didn't even think it was something people would consider gross. Admittedly, the thought of used adult sheets is different to me than kids' sheets, and I don't love thinking about hotel sheets, but I'd force myself to get over it. My parents have a steam/sanitize cycle on their washer, so I'd probably have them wash them, then dry them on hot, then repeat with color safe bleach. It was a design that was discontinued and after searching everywhereeee, I could only find it on eBay. The lady I bought it from included a free sheet in the same design. I was pleasantly surprised! I just washed it and it's on rotation with the rest of LOs sheets. I wouldn't necessarily seek out a used sheet considering you could get a plain colored sheet to match, fine.
