Ok, I better call her later to make sure she didn't buy something off their registry!!! She dated him throughout college but they went to grad schools in different states. They were doing long distance and planning their wedding when he broke it off because he was interested in someone else...his wife now. I don't think my BFF ever got over that heartbreak! :-(
I definitely think his wife would be creeped out!

I only would if I was still close with the ex... so in this case, no.

No! Especially since they don't keep in touch. And who knows, even if it wasn't malicious, it might be perceived that way.

No Way!

It's not appropriate and as the new mom, I really wouldn't like it. If they ended on good terms, it might be a little different, but since it was a bad ending, then it's really not a good idea.

My husband's ex sent a gift a while after DS was born. This was a little different because it was malicious, not with good intentions at all, but even if it had been with good intentions I would have been upset. Any contact with an ex that you ended on bad terms with is going to be tense.

If I were the baby mama, I think I'd feel uncomfortable with receiving that gift.

I would not send my ex a gift, maybe a 'congrats on your new family & I wish you all the best!' on Facebook, but I can't imagine them wanting a reminder of me on their baby in the form of an outfit or blanket sent as a gift. That would be weird.

My BFF found out through the grapevine that her ex fiance had a baby last month. She wants to send him a gift but I told her not to be a creep...they haven't spoken in over 8 years and definitely did not end on good terms!

What do you think? Would you send a gift?
