yea!! I'm glad he's okay!

When DS was little he was having a fit and while DH was carrying him, DS through his body back and hit his head against the door frame HARD. I was so freaked out I called a nurse. She said pretty much same thing you heard. it was so scary.

Glad to hear all is ok! I am absolutely paranoid any time DD bumps her head at all, so I definitely understand your worry. Happy to hear he's all good though!

Update: the Dr was really sweet and just said that he should be good and just watch that he's not acting abnormal but said hr sounds good to her! Feeling relieved. :)

@Monkula: @zippylef: @Foodnerd81: I just called the on call after hours line. Waiting for a callback.. The redness went away ( o think it looked so red from him falling asleep on that side in his car seat) so it doesn't look that bad like the pics anymore but I wanna be safe and talk to the Dr. He's laughing and smiling though so I think he is ok. I'll let you guys know what the Dr says. Thanks ladies!

I second talking to a nurse. I think it would put you more at ease knowing that someone who has a good reason to be conservative about this sort of thing thinks that your son is fine.

The first time C hit her head really bad, I called the nurse advice line because she went to bed that night slept completely through her morning awake time the next morning and woke up when she would normally wake up from her first nap. She slept the whole way through.

They said unless her pupils are unevenly dilated, she's unusually sleepy or she's vomiting, they're usually fine.

I freaked out too though. Definitely at least call and see if a nurse at your ped's office will talk to you. Even if he's fine, it's a legit concern and they may be able to make you feel better or tell you to come in.

Aw poor baby-- and poor mama! So he was sitting and just fell from sitting to the ground? It sounds like he probably didn't hit his head that hard? As a nervous first time mom, I'd probably call the ped anyway, but from an outside perspective, I would also think he is probably fine. But really, why not call just to put your mind at ease, since this is obviously an extra sensitive area for you?

P was sitting up and fell sideways and hit his head off the floor that's carpeted but iys concrete underneath the carpeting. He cried and I picked him up and and then he was OK and has been fine since it happened about 2 hours ago but now I notice some red spots and a bump on his forehead..... Do vu think I should call the Dr? I'm terrified of brain injuries and can't think clearly nor logically when it comes to him hitting his head BC of personal reasons....I am overly paranoid when it comes to this type of stuff. Hheres a pic
What would you do?
