My answer is always yes. You can at least get an IV which will make you feel better physically and mentally.

@HazelEyes: I would wait a little bit longer - it seems like you're on the mend from a 24 hour bug. If you've kept some food/drink down, then it won't be too much longer before you'll be back to being hydrated. I hope you feel better soon!!

@HazelEyes: I contacted my OB last week because I see them a lot more now than my PCP. I am not sure if my PCP knows I'm expecting.
If you have a better relationship with your PCP though - I would contact them.

@mrsrain: @autumnleaves: would you call the OB or my PCP?

@blackbird: @LBee: @winniebee: Its the dehydration I"m worried about. I mean, I usually have had sooo much water by this time in the day and I'm barely done with a 12 oz can of soda. Not to mention what I lost last night.

I probably wouldn't since you seem to be on the mend. I had norovirus while pregnant with my first and my OB's rule was something like if you can't keep anything down for 8 hours, go to ER for fluids.

It doesn't hurt to let them know and make sure they don't want you to come in but I think as long as you don't have a fever, are staying hydrated, they'll say take it easy and you don't need to come in. I had something similar happen to me last week at 19 weeks and was kind of wondering if they would want to test me for listeria, ecoli, etc - I couldn't figure out what caused my "stomach bug" and they told me as long as I don't have a fever and things don't get worse not to come in. It only lasted a day.

I hope you feel better soon!

There is a nasty stomach virus going around my neck of the woods. I actually just got over it and what you are describing sounds similar. I would call just in case, though. I got dehydrated super fast and could barely walk / my hands and feet were tingling (and I'm not pregnant!).

I wouldn't because it sounds like a < 24 hour bug that's probably going around. I had one for 6 days while pregnant and the only concern was dehydration. So if i couldn't keep anything down, I'd call

I'm always a fan of calling for my own peace of mind. You don't lose anything by calling, and they may be able to tell you something helpful!

I brought my little guy into the pediatrician yesterday to check on his cough and other random symptoms and yet I was the one who threw up there! I spent the rest of the night either in bed or at the toilet. If I so much as took a sip of ginger ale I was all crampy.

So today, I'm not feeling crampy and am nursing a ginger ale. I had a piece of toast for breakfast.

Normally, whatever, I"ll survive, but I am 15 week pregnant. I don't know if what I have is a bug, food poisoning or just overdoing it being pregnant.

Do you think this is worth a call to my OB or my PCP?
