Most cleaners and soaps don't kill the germs. My DS was throwing up for a day or so about 10 days before everyone was going to arrive. I got it 36 hours later and called in sick to work for the first and only time ever. Then DH got it. He sanitized everything with bleach and we were super conscientious about washing hands. When family started coming over a week after we were all over it, everyone ended up getting the same thing except the two who had had something similar a couple of months before. We felt so terrible, especially since a couple had wanted to cancel based on the GI illness and SIL and I (both medical professionals) said, "No! You should still come! DD2's 1st birthday party is Saturday afternoon (3pm). She threw up for an hour Wednesday morning and had an upset tummy for a little Thurs and Fri. I have sanitized the entire house and have been washing my hands like crazy. It's a big party (50+ people). Do you think it's better to go ahead and cancel or do you think we'll be ok? I don't want to chance getting the kids sick, but I also don't really feel like rescheduling it for next weekend. </p>
