We just upsized, so no, we're not thinking of downsizing anytime soon. We wanted a house that we could envision being the hang out for the girls and all their friends through high school and in to college!

If my house was 3000 sq ft, I wouldn't hesitate to downsize. But our house is only 1425 and it's perfect for us.

Nope, our house is a 3bed/2bath 1500sq ft house, and it is just the right size for the three of us! We plan on getting a bigger house in the next 5 years or so, staying there for 10 years, and *then* downsizing back to a smaller house.

We definitely could not downsize-- we are in a 1 bed, 850 sq ft apartment, and are moving to a 1050 sq ft two bedroom. We couldn't do smaller than that! I think our next place, when we buy, will probably be twice that size.

The process of moving, even to a bigger place, sucks, but it is forcing us to purge and evaluate what it worth actually moving, as opposed to just hanging on to because it's here.

We're in a 1600 sq. foot with 3/2.5 not counting the basement and I don't think I would want to go smaller. I grew up with one bathroom so I couldn't go to any less than two! We're on three acres so its kind of perfect for us. I just wish we lived on a paved road rather than dirt so it wouldn't be so muddy/rutty in the spring. I also wouldn't mind living a little further from my in laws and BIL and SIL.

Yes! We have a older 4 bed/3 bath 2800 sq/ft house on 1 acre that we've made more modern. I love it - it's just (2 mins) outside of the city and has everything we need. But, we could sell it for at least 200K more than we bought it for...which means we could probably be mortgage free if we sold and downsized. Too bad the kidlets are just starting...we both think this house/neighborhood would be ideal for our family.

Ours is perfect for us. A 2/2 that's about 1900 sq feet. If we had another baby, we'd need to figure out something!

No way. We already have a teeny tiny house. We aren't sure yet if this will be our forever home.... I thought I wanted it to be when we moved here but now that I'm here I'd like more room. I could manage here, I do love it and I love the area, I think it all depends on how many kids we decide to have.

With a LO on the way, I don't know if I would go smaller than I already have (1100 sq. ft.). Maybe if the yard was bigger and the house boasted a really smart use of space.

We'll be downsizing when we move back to the states. We have a 1700sq ft 3bed, 2.5 bath house that we rent here in England. Our house back home in the states is 1200sq ft, 2bed, 1 bath.

We will definitely be getting rid of some stuff before we move!

I'd downsize the size of house if it meant increasing the size of land :) Right now we have more house than we need on a tiny section.

We're downsizing as of this coming week for the next year or so! On one hand I love the opportunity to purge & get better organized but on the other it's been really nice having the space with all of us! In the end it will save us a good chunk of change at the end of the year & is a step to owning our own place (if we so choose at the end of the year) so I'm happy about it!

DH and I have been talking a lot about our next move. We've owned a home for the past few years. It's an almost 3,000 sq ft fixer-upper, and has a great yard and plenty of room to grow. But, when we lookin the future,as in the next 5 years, we see ourselves moving to a townhouse or rowhouse. That would definitely mean downsizing. Honestly, thinking about it makes me a little excited! Is anyone else considering this?
