I wouldn't hyphenate LO's because I personally find my own name so long and a pain to explain to people. In our area growing up, I don't think anyone grew up with a hyphenated name, although I'm sure there must have been SOMEONE.</p> <p>When we got married I made the decision to take his last name (and relegate my maiden name to a middle name).</p> <p>My youngest sister however, she was given a hyphenated name because our mom and her dad couldn't agree on one name or the other. We are going to pass my hyphenated last name onto our kids.
