With my previous boss, work was super flexible. He didn't micromanage so if I had business to take care of, he didn't mind if I left early, came in late, etc. as long as I got my work done. Which I always did. Now that I have a new boss (bc my previous boss left for a different company), I don't think it'll be anywhere near as flexible. :( Sad thing is, a lot of it can be done from home, and I'm more than willing to come into the office during meeting days and what not. Guess I'll deal with that road block when the day comes...

I work from home once a week now on Thursdays. Once my maternity leave is up, I'll most likely be changing my hours to 7am-4pm and asking for an additional WFH day or two... (My mom will be over to be the primary caretaker during work hours).

I think it's pretty flexible. I can work from home.

My job seems to be pretty flexible, I am a home health nurse and usually if we can get our patients done, we can set our own schedules, we have one nurse who picks up her son and takes him to school. Plus if I have a doctors appointment I just make it up the next day.

We shall see. I'm going to be asking to work 7:30 to 4pm when I get back from maternity leave. I'm not sure what answer ill get but my hopes are high. I can work from home if absolutely necessary but it is frowned upon.

yes, i changed jobs so that i could have a flexible one for the LO. now i work at home and it's a lot better since i used to have to commute for almost 3 hours/day. now i spend that additional time working more but it's still a lot less stressful than rushing from the office to the subway to a train to my car and then to daycare for pick ups!

Very flexible. So much so that I will not contemplate a job change. Thank goodness I love my job! I work from home full time, LO goes to daycare and I can take time off as needed for PD appointments or LO home sick days without having my management frown at me. Also, I do not have fixed 9-5 working hours, meetings can start as early as 5/6am or we can have late night meetings. We just make sure to meet out deadlines, be responsive to emails and IMs. No one monitors our working hours. We just get our jobs done.

During peak cycles, we may be working 10-12 hours days, just not all at one go e.g. meetings from 6-8am, 8-9am daycare drop off, 9-2pm, break for lunch, 2.30-4pm, 4-9pm prepare dinner, pick up LO, have dinner, get LO her birth, read bedtime stories and lights out. 10pm-12mn, work. We are not paid overtime or anything so during off peak times, we will just flex time off.

It feels fairly flexible in that they accommodate parent's schedules (ie. coming in later depending on school/daycare drop-off times, letting you off to go to school functions, some mom's would help out in the classroom once a month/week). I work in a lab, though, so there's no way I could do my work at home.

Mine is flexible in the sense that I can bring LO to work and I get a discount on childcare! I teach preschool at a daycare, so when we have a LO, he/she will be in the same building as I am.

I'm a SAHM, but hubby has a very flexible job. He's able to work from home if necessary, and also can go in late, leave early, etc. as long as he gets his hours in. I love it, I get bad migraines so he's always there when I need him. And I know he'll always be there for LO.

I think it's pretty flexible. I'm thinking about only going back part-time and I know they'd allow that :)

I hear a lot of moms say that they want more flexibility in their lives, especially when it comes to their careers and jobs. Including me! Right now, I work from 9-6. But I would love to be able to work from home several times a week.. Unfortunately my company doesn't allow their employees to work from home unless it's a rare occassion.

How much flexibility would be enough for you?
