I had a hard time finding anything for DS's nursery that I both liked and was willing to pay the money for. We were also in a weird situation because I moved home when DH deployed and we were living with family when DS was born. I would have decorated a lot more if we had been in our own place. I plan on it being that way for any future children and will definitely go all out! We spent more money on gear for her though. I'm hoping to do just as much regardless of what we're having. One upside of my late anatomy scan (around 21 weeks) is that we've already started a lot of the planning (18 and a half weeks), including picking out paint colors and a couple of things for the walls, without knowing gender. We are planning to find out, although we're also not planning to tell people, so we'll be keeping the nursery somewhat neutral at least for a while. We were talking about her nursery progress; she said she wasn't doing anything special - just light blue with necessity furniture. She made a comment that she's not going to get into doing the nursery because it's a boy and if it were a girl she'd do a more elaborate nursery..</p> <p>That surprised me. I did a special nursery for my boy and will do a special room for a girl if I have one too.</p> <p>Would you do a less elaborate nursery if you had a boy vs a girl?? </p>
