I think I would drive if it was something like a broken arm that wasn't life threatening but obviously in pain and needing a doctor. We don't live far from a hospital but it could take a while for an ambulance. Also, to drive to the hospital we don't have any highways or anything so the speed limit would be below 45 the whole way.

If we're talking about running a fever and we need to have the baby checked, no.
If we're talking about severe allergic reaction, seizures, not breathing, etc.. heck yeah!

Depends how old the child is, I would have to weigh the risks if their life isn't threatened by waiting for an ambulance then I would wait for an ambulance. No matter how carefully you drive, there are many manic drivers out there and you never know when someone is going to crash into you.

Yeah it would depend on the emergency, and how long it would take to get to a hospital. If it was life threatening and an ambulance would take too long, I guess I would drive them, but anything less than life threatening, I wouldn't want to risk the drive, especially since I don't feel that I am that good of a driver. But like @Lozza: I live near a whole bunch of hospitals, so it would only take minutes for an ambulance to get to me.

I'd drive the kid without a seat. Just would drive extra carefully and make sure they were strapped in in the back middle as best as could be.

I would guess that if something is that frightening, I'd want trained personnel helping out too, not just transportation, so my default would be to call an ambulance. That said, I live in an urban area and am a five-minute walk from the nearest fire/EMS station, so someone could be at my house pretty quickly. If I lived somewhere where time was of the essence and an ambulance couldn't get to me right away, my answer might be different.

LO is staying with a babysitting tonight and I guess we won't leave them a carseat.

What would you do if something happened (emergency but not life threatening) while you were watching a child but didn't have a car seat?

Would you call and ambulance or load the child up into the car without a car seat and drive to the hospital?
