And I didn't know those stories were just in the 80s.

Just for clarification, I wouldn't eat it because I am a germo-phobe and why on earth would I eat something from someone I don't know? I mean, God only knows if they washed their hands or whatever. I just wouldn't.

I probably wouldn't. I grew up in the 80s where we went to the hospital after we were done trick-or-treating and they x-rayed your candy to check for needles. That sounds nuts typing it out though.

I would eat an unpeeled piece of fruit (if it looked good) but not a baked good.

If someone had a way to make undetectably poisoned apples and wanted to poison strangers why wouldn't they take them to the grocery store and put them in the produce display? You actually see stuff like that on the news from time to time. Like the lady that put rubbing alcohol in Starbucks OJ - crazy doesn't wait for Halloween.

I wouldn't eat a baked good because I'm skeeved out by strangers homemade goodies. A dozen of my family members just got food poisoning from brownies. Maybe I should avoid baked goods from people I know!

Sure. There are easier ways to poison people. Plus what would the motive be to poison a complete stranger? And it would be SO easy to get caught. I don't think that would make sense from the sour be murder's perspective. I mean, either be stealth about it or poison someone you know.

Didn't all the 80s rumors turn out to be familial?

I've taken candy from a stranger once, haha. He was a nice old British man who was eating some candies from a local candy shop. He asked me for directions and then offered me some. A lady at the airport split her sandwich with me once too. Bit I suppose those were both store bought.

I doubt I would let LO do it. But I think the fear would be more food poisoning than razor blades.

No...& I'd have to know them VERY well for me to eat it from someone I knew too. I think it's very bizarre when people hand out homemade things because the majority of people won't eat it and although the giver most likely has good intentions, it doesn't sit well with people.
