I will default to putting my daughters in dance unless they strongly oppose. A son I probably wouldn't default to putting him in class but if he showed an interest I absolutely would. My husband is a real guy's guy (he used to be an NFL player to give you a reference point). Like @Honeybee: we plan to have our children take gymnastics from a young age, boy or girl, because I think it would be good for coordination (they aren't going to get any coordinated genes from me, so they will need any help they can get!)
