I rejected a name I liked because it sounded vaguely reminiscent of my family nickname. I explained that to my doula during labor and she thought I was nuts so I may consider it again. (Turned out it was her daughter's name). My MIL is named after her mother (same first name). Coincidentally, that name (Violet) is now in the top 100 names, so it isn't like she's being named an old, obscure name. The only thing that I find odd and might change is that a lot of my screen names, including here, are my middle name - I may change them when she comes along, because that is weird.
