Depends on if it's snow in Wisconsin or snow in Texas!

I think it would depend on how much snow was in the forecast. I have a crappy little Mazda 3 that is terrible in the snow. A few inches wouldn't keep me home if I could drive my DH's car which is an SUV, but anything over 6 would definitely keep me home.

Also, 1 hour under normal conditions means probably 2 hours (or more) in the snow.

I voted yes. I know it's now way more annoying, but unless it's someone you don't really care about I would still make the effort.

Around here 3-5 isn't a big deal so I'd go. All depends on where you are and how comfortable you are driving in snow.

In Atlanta = No!
In Buffalo = Yes!

It totally depends on the quality of snow removal where you are.

An hour away isn't a big deal in the city, but I do think it's different on rural roads. Seeing that might change my vote.

Yes. When i used to live in Toronto, 30-45 minute drive was the norm, so 1 hour is not really a big deal. If it's a dear friend i would go regardless of the weather. I'd be annoyed if it were 1 hour away in the current city i'm in, but heck, i've drive 45 minutes just to go to a mom's group play date after a big snow storm!

I was going to say yes, until I saw that it was an hour away!! That seems far and dangerous, so no...

I went to a bridal shower the other week and it was snowing, but it was only a 25 min drive (normally 15 mins)

@MusicaV: eh, I might skip it.

An hour away w/o traffic and with up to 5 inches of snow in unplowed roads..... could be a disaster!!!

Unless it was my BFF or sister - then I would go regardless!

Depends on how much. If it was in town Id drive in almost anything. Anything over 20cm and I wouldn't drive an hour away though.

Depends on a lot of things-- how close am I to the guest of honor (best friend, sister, I'd try a lot harder to go than just a regular friend); when the snow is supposed to start and the time of the shower; what my options would be if it started snowing hard and I didn't want to drive in it.

But I really hate driving in the snow, so I might err on the wimpy side and bow out unless it was super important for me to be there. Then again, I'm still debating whether to go to a friend's shower that's an hour away and snow isn't part of the equation. I just don't feel like driving an hour.

@hilsy85: @Mamaof2: We're used to snow, but the drive is mostly on the local roads (low plow priority). Current forecast is for 3-5 inches of snow.

Yes. I'm going to one on Saturday, and we're projected to get 6 inches that day.

I guess it depends how much snow and where you live (i.e. will your city basically shut down in the snow or is it no big deal)?

Would you go to a baby shower if it was going to snow that day? The shower is at a restaurant almost an hour away without traffic.
