My stepmom threw one and my mom threw the other. I did have a few very close friends I invited to both but for the most part they had different guest lists. For those that attended both, they did bring gifts to both (though that wasn't expected) and I know that they split up their gifts and gave some at one shower and some at the other. I hosted one of the showers so it was nice to get to be a guest at the other and mingle with her family. A bunch of us threw a shower for my good friend and all chipped in for a group gift. Her family also threw her a shower and I was invited to that one too. I brought a gift to the family shower as well. I have attended both the normal baby shower and the work baby shower in that situation. I only brought a gift to the social outside of work shower.
