@BabyBoecksMom glad to hear that it can be a normal thing for some of us "unlucky" ones! I think I am one of the ones that have them constantly, I've just started to notice them more. They freak me out for sure though! No pain which is a great sign. I was just really thrown off because I drink so so much water. :meh:

@paigeface: Oh wow!! Well I'm glad you were able to drink some water and rest and that take care of it. I haven't had another "episode" since Sunday (just my normal one very few hours) but I find myself hanging on every little move she is making. I can't wait for my appointment tomorrow to make sure all is well and know for sure.

@Mrs Green Grass: @QBbride: @MrsRcCar: Thank you ladies!!

@BabyBoecksMom: Yes, there wasn't any pain just a little uncomfortable since it was happening so often. I have a hard time reaching my suggested water intake on the weekends since I'm running around so much. During the week it's easy for me! I'm going to be much more conscious of how much I'm taking in now.

@pinkarmadillo: I'm glad you checked with your doctor! I just wanted to chime in and say that I was one of the (un)lucky ones who had about 5-10 Braxton Hicks each hour, starting around 20 weeks and lasting through the end (both pregnancies). My doctor said some women just have more than others. As long as you are drinking your water and there isn't pain with it, I wouldn't worry too much

Had to come back to this post because I had the same thing happen tonight! I'm 26 weeks Thursday and I've had them off and on since 17 weeks but nothing substantial. Started having them when I got home from work. Texted a midwife friend and she just told me to lay on my left side and drink more water (although I drink a ton of water through the day, 60oz!) They've calmed down a ton but it had me kinda worried for a bit! I logged on my Ovia app tonight and the first thing it said for 26 weeks was "you might begin to notice an increase in contractions." :silly:

Thank you all for help!! I took your advice and called back to my doctor. Sorry I didn't update yesterday but I spent a little more time on the couch on my side and drinking fluids. Shortly after my post they started to span further and further apart. After a nap I was still having maybe one or two an hour. There wasn't any pain and after I called my doctor back he seemed to think that maybe I was really dehydrated and overdid it the day before. I was in nesting mode full force and then DH and I had sex that morning which with all of that caused me to just have an increase in BHs. He did tell me that if any part of me felt the need to come in today and let him do a quick check so I may do that on my lunch. Other than that I will be going in on Wednesday for my 28 week appointment. She is moving around like normal which makes me feel much more at ease!

My OB said to call if I had more than 6 Braxton hicks in an hour. A few times I did, and I called, and they just had me lay down for at least an hour and drink water. One thing my OB said that stayed with me was that BH shouldn't hurt, which was true for me - they could be very uncomfortable but they were not painful. If they are painful, I'd call.

I wouldn't go. I always get BH like that. Particularly with my first pregnancy. Unless there's painful cramping or leaking fluid, everything is probably fine.

Please, please, please go to your L&D! From prior experience it's always better to be overly cautious. And like PP said, if it is indeed labor, they can try stopping it and getting medical attention will make all the difference!

I would go. Overly cautious is absolutely the right call. If they are truly Braxton hicks you are probably okay, but they are not, you might need meds to calm them down.

@pinkarmadillo: it's probably a good idea to get checked just to make sure they're BH's and not actually contractions. They're coming pretty frequently! And I agree, I'd head right up to L&D.

Im 27 weeks 4 days and have been having Braxton Hicks all morning. Also more discharge than normal. It's pretty watery. I spoke with my doctor 45 minutes ago and he advised me to drink some water and lay on my left side for an hour and see if that takes care of the BHs. So far they're still coming.

Here is how often:
12:22
12:31
12:36
12:49
12:52
1:10

So my question to you is would you go in to be checked? I don't want to be overly cautious but I don't want to take any chances either!
