Agree on the celebrating another new life, but definitely no registry or gifts! I love the idea of celebrating a new baby with those who are nearest and dearest. I'd also say though that it should be a casual affair - no big, elaborate decorations or fancy themes. Just what you would do for a normal brunch with family and friends, or a normal barbecue etc with just a little something extra to signify that it's to mark a new life.

I think every child should be celebrated! If someone offered to throw me a sprinkle then I would accept. But no gifts! You don't need anything really for a second unless it's a different gender or a crib depending on how close they are in age.

Everything else is extra in my opinion.

I think every baby should be celebrated! I threw a sprinkle and on the invite we were very clear that gifts were not expected. Of course most people decided to still bring a little something.. diapers, a cute outfit, etc. the mommy-to-be was glowing and it was a great way for her to have one last hurrah before the chaos of a toddler and newborn :)

I like the idea of celebrating all babies especially as an open house thing.

I'm kind of in the no second shower camp. However, each baby IS exciting, so I think a true sprinkle to get together and celebrate, no gifts and definitely no registering, is nice.

Babies should be celebrated, but I would not register, and I would stay away from using the words shower or sprinkle because they indicate (incorrectly) that a gift is expected. (I know not everyone expects gifts and would be happy without, etc. but let's face it people hear shower and think gifts.) I love the idea of a sip-and-see/brew-and-view or just a celebration of the mom-to-be and baby in lieu of a shower.

I think its a good idea. I would probably say like a 10 dollar limit for just maybe gender specific items. I heard other bees say before that every baby should be celebrated.

You should totally have one since they offered!
I would have said yes if someone offered to throw me one!

I think every baby should be celebrated! I am a big fan of sprinkles.

I do think that a registry is a no-no though. But guests can definitely still bring a gift!

I would! But I would say no gifts and I wouldn't register. Most people would probably bring you a gift anyways (at least I would if I were invited to one).

No second shower or sprinkle for me. My friends and family spent enough the first time around and my LOs are close in age.

If someone wanted to throw my a sprinkle then for sure... that tells me that they don't think it to be gift grabby & perfectly acceptable!

Personally I think all babies should be celebrated & while sip & sees are generally more "accepted" for subsequent bebes I couldn't imagine one for myself in the days/early weeks pp.

I didn't think I would have any sort of shower for baby #2, especially since they are the same sex.

However, my sister just asked me last week if she could throw me a small sprinkle--a casual, co-ed BBQ in my parents backyard. Of course, I said yes! I am actually really excited, because it means my DH, dad, and brothers can all be there!

However, we won't be registering. My mom is saying no gifts, but she is "guessing" that many people will bring us Amazon giftcards since our close family knows that we have a couple big purchases to make (glider, 2nd crib, double stroller).

I would like to attend one as a guest! If I were throwing one I'd leave off any registry information, but as a guest I'd still probably bring a small gift (e.g. book, outfit).

I would want this baby to be just as celebrated as our first! I didn't have a big fancy shower anyway - just family and some friends - so I think that would be nice again!

My mom asked me if I thought it would be weird if her and my MIL threw me a "sprinkle" but it would just be a brunch/breakfast at her house with a few close friends and no gifts.

Does this seem weird or would you like being able to celebrate baby #2 a little with friends?
