My labor and delivery were great at about 14 hours total with a vaginal delivery. I think that the newborn stuff would be easier to deal with for the second one. Our guy is 4.5 months, so we're still learning. I tried using the laughing gas but I think the pain medicine from the shot made me too queasy to use much of it. It was painful, incredibly so without the aid of much medication, but a day later my mind had numbed the experience a little. I was induced and wasn't allowed an epidural for medical reasons so the contractions sucked. Ended up doing it med-free and the actual birth was easy - lo basically birthed herself, I only had to do 2 small pushes. I only had a labial graze too so I was pretty lucky! Consequently, DS serverly distressed the option was emergency CSection or give me an episiotomy and vacuum him out. Remember how I said my labour was 2 hours long? Yeah that meant 0 pain relief with an episiotomy! The vacuum failed to attach a number of times and my doctor was freaking. Eventually it stuck and he came out. </p> <p>My placenta retained, and I was sent to theatre, he also had severe jaundice due to the vacuum. BUT, we went back for number 2- and that was a labour with it's own set of issues and definitely a lot worse than DS. </p> <p>Would I go back for number 3?
