My parents had separate rooms for us, but would always find one of us in the other's bed by morning, so it seemed logical to let us share.</p> <p>I also shared with my other brother when I was a teenager (he was 6 years younger) because I lived with my dad most of the time, and my brothers lived with Mum. Mum felt it was unfair to make the boys share so I could have my own room 5 nights a fortnight, so made me share! I'm not sure how long we'll have them share a room but we want them to be close and to have each other and think that sharing a room will encourage that. We recently redecorated DS's room -- what will be their room -- and it's very fun, bright/light and gender neutral. We were around 2 years apart and pretty close. I think we shared until I was 10-11, which is around the timewhen my older brother went to college, which freed up an upstairs bedroom. We never minded it.
