@Coco Bee: I shave every day... unless Charlie sleeps in, then my whole day is off. He's my alarm clock.

@mrbee: how often do you shave? My husband's facial hair grows so fast; if he shaves in the morning he's stubby by bedtime. no joke. He can't shave everyday or he gets really bad razor burn, so he can only shave once a week which means he's kinda stubby half the week :-P

My husband got one on our wedding day at the place where he has gotten his hair cut for years. It was awesome! My husband has a weird beard, lol. So having a straight edge shave made his face so soft and he didn't have to shave for a couple days after! I wish he could get it done more often.

@dagret: haha, I was imagining a straight razor coming at my lady parts too! Hell no! :D

Man face shaving, DH gets them all the time. Every time he gets his hair cut (or a line up as he calls it). I would go somewhere you trust that's been in business a long time. But you should be fine!

DH loves a professional shave but it would have to be a reputable place.

Getting a real old-fashioned barber shave is one of my husband’s favorite indulgences! He’s never been cut during a shave. The one he goes to now is a salon and they do a sort of mini-facial at the same time, and use lots of lather and hot towels – you should look for a place like that; it’s a really nice service!

The barber should be properly cleaning the blade after every client, so the risk of diseases is low, and/or replacing the blade after every client (this is what they do where my husband goes). I would just ask how they clean the blade if you are concerned.

I'd try! It looks kind of like a nice pampering thing! Go someplace that doesn't look like a butchers hahha.. But I wouldn't do it just because I forgot to shave... It'd be like a treat. I wouldn't let then shave my legs though LOL. Too much territory.

If you go to a reputable barber shop, I would say do it. Just make sure they clean their straight edges well and you should be good to go.

I think you meant to post this in Dads...but there's not straight edge going near my ladybits, ever.

If i was a dude I'd go for it. I've heard it's super-relaxing and they are super-skilled.

Yikes! Barbers are usually skilled .. But eh. I wouldn't. ESP since they use the same blade on everyone?
Plus neck shaving freaks me out

I didn't shave this morning (was in a hurry) and now I am at work and it's too late.

I was thinking about going to a nearby barber shop and getting a shave... but I'm nervous about 1) getting cut by the straight edge and 2) getting communicable diseases (like hepatitis) if that happens.
http://health.usnews.com/health-news/family-health/digestive-disorders/articles/2011/11/01/hepatitis-may-lurk-at-barbershops-nail-salons

What about you guys... if you were me, would you let a barber shave you with a straight edge razor?
