Other than that, while I would love for LO to be in all the *best* schools, assuming there were/are other suitable options, I wouldn't move for a K-5 school. There's areas around us that we have no desire to have our kids in the districts. We have the ok to be member even though we live outside boundaries. we plan on moving that way any ways. It's a much better area. K-8 is a long time so it would be worth the move. If it was a preschool or a school you are only at for 3 years..no i'd just commute. It is a great district but the number 1 district in our area is way too big and I don't like that idea. The school LO will go to (we live in the are now, just moving to a house), is on a much smaller scale, but definitely a good school all around. There are some schools about 15 minutes away that are horrible. But if our child got into a really great school that was further away from home, I'd just drive them in every day and, when they're older, get them a bus pass. That got me to thinking... what if he got into the best gifted and talented program in Manhattan? Would we move so he could attend? It is just such an awesome school (k-8) that I think we probably would. But of course we don't own so moving is not a big hardship for us. Would you move if your LO got into the best school?
