She’s totally fine. It was just a moment of panic. It was probably on her face for 30 seconds. I had only left the room about 3 minutes before. And yes, I know there are dangers to letting her sleep on my bed. It was stupid. Wake-up call for sure!

@CatchAFallingStar: like previous posters have said if she breathing normally and is the right color I assume she is fine. I want to believe the pillow was on her face less than 2 to 3 mins that you suggested.
At 5.5 months she is way young to be on a bed though even if she was awake they can roll over at no notice even if she hasn't rolled over before.

@pachamama: same with my 2.5 year old.

@CatchAFallingStar: same basic thing happened at like 2 months, she was fine, I felt guilty.

@CatchAFallingStar: I think she did exactly what the babies are supposed to do, if she was able to cry she was able to breathe!
Meanwhile, 2.5 yr olds favorite thing to do is sleep with an adult pillow on his face during nap time. Or stuffed animals. He pulls them up on him b/c it comforts him I think. It's terrifying.

I think if she cried and is breathing fine, then she's fine, but I understand the panic! My first was a horrible sleeper and I fell asleep with him on my chest one night while nursing in bed, and woke up with the blanket pulled up over his head - freaked me out, but he was just fine.

Was she blue or purple in her hands/feet? Is she normal color now? I think she's fine. You can breathe with a pillow on your face especially if your face is sideways, but even if it's not. It wasn't that long and she was able to cry and is acting normal so I really wouldn't worry objectively, but I get it.

I think if she cried that means she was able to breathe and was okay?

If she’s acting normal I wouldn’t be worried. Lots of these scary things have happened to all of us! Im not sure what the doctor could do except check her out? But I would not panic and just remeber that you’re doing a great job

My 5.5 month old was asleep on my bed, so I decided to let her sleep while I played with my older daughter in her room down the hall. I heard a faint cry and rushed in to see a pillow had fallen on her face. It was probably on her for about 2-3 minutes or less. I FREAKED out. I called the doctor but haven’t heard back. I’m still worried even though she seems normal. Ugh. I feel awful.
