I wouldn't be interested! :-p I'm sure strangers won't want to eat stuff I cook!

I posted about something similar a while back about cooking coops. You get a group of people together and each week you would make enough for the entire group of one meal and swap with the others. I would do it if I knew the people and we have similar tastes in food.

I also think it is a really neat idea - but I would only do it with people I knew. Number one: I really like planning meals and cooking; number two: I am notoriously paranoid about food.

Interesting...I don't think I would eat food made by people I don't know! I'm too paranoid. But it's a cool idea and I wouldn't mind doing this with friends--maybe I'll try to start it up when I'm a SAHM! Either that or freezer cooking...so many neat ideas I need to try.

I just read about this new food sharing coop in New York called Mealku... it sounded pretty awesome!

<< The online reservation system allows members to post portions of meals that they will be cooking within three days. Other members sign up to receive them no more than 40 minutes after the food is ready. ...

No money is exchanged. Mealku uses a point system with members earning points when they post a food portion and when someone reserves it. Points are deducted when they order a portion.

Membership is free, but eventually Mealku plans to start charging a monthly fee plus a delivery charge to pay for bike messengers, recyclable food bags and other things. >>

http://cityroom.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/23/leftovers-made-to-share-with-strangers/

Would you ever participate in a food-sharing coop?
