Yes, with no hesitations if they were in the condition the ones you posted are in. I buy stuff off of CL all the time, furniture mostly- buy it, fix it and resell it. I would buy baby stuff too

I bought our Vista on CL - used for $240. I was able to take it apart and hand wash all the cloth parts. We've only used it once (LO is only a week and a half old) but I don't have any complaints and it was a great deal for us!

. @jholler25: I prefer to buy new, but those are some awesome deals!! I would check them out in person & really test out every feature! I'd also take notes/stats on the ones you'd consider buying new to compare. On a random note, I vacationed to boca raton a few years ago, it's gorgeous!

I was looking at buying a used stroller (the UBV). I think you can buy them new on sale for around $400 (I haven't watched prices in a while) so I wasn't really willing to spend more than $250 or so on a used one (even if it was good condition).

So in the end we ended up with the Britax Boulevard because you can buy it during the Free Ride event and get the stroller and car seat for $400 plus it turns into a double.

PS, I always liked this picture showing the two side by side:

@chrispygal: UB Vistas that are 2009 models and newer can use the rumble seat for a 2nd child. Anything older can also accomodate the rumble seat, but must be sent to the UB factory for modifications to be made to the frame.

we are looking into buying a used stroller as there are definitely a lot of high-end gently used baby gear by us. i'm not weird about germs though, and i am happy to clean something that will save me hundreds of dollars!

I was given a used Uppa Baby Vista and we were able to order replacement wheels for $50. They also sold a replacement seat for $100. So....if you can find one cheap enough you can order a new seat and basically have a brand new stroller for much less. Keep in mind though that I believe it may only be the 2012 model that allows for multiple babies??? Check on that.

Heck yeah I would! If I had experienced having a baby before, I would totally have looked for a stroller with a bassinet and looked for a used one. Why not - as long as it looks like it's in great shape, do it!!

i definitely would and have! i bought our bugaboo bee brand new for $400. the family received it as a gift but it was too heavy for their walk-up. bed bugs are not likely to live in things like strollers that move every day.

honestly, probably not...I have never bought anything second hand though, except for a coffee table and a bookshelf...I just am kind of weird about other people's stuff if I don't know them. I do think it's a great way to get a good deal on stuff, especially high end strollers like the bug! But I was fine buying a new one (uppa baby vista) because I figure we'll use it ALL THE TIME and get so much use out of it that it'll be worth it.

I absolutely would. I don't think there could be any harmful germs on a gently used stroller. I wouldn't buy a used car seat but a stroller....absolutely. totally worth saving the money to me.

I got an Uppa Baby Vista in NYC from Craigslist for $300. I only needed it because I wanted to get through the winter with a single/double transition stroller (i walked my toddler to preschool in the cold weather with my newborn in tow). Because it was used, I machine washed the toddler seat per Uppa Baby's instructions, but the fabric still tore. I fixed it with some tape, but if I had bought it brand new, I'm sure they would've just sent a new seat under the warranty. I sold the stroller before moving out of NYC, and the third owner contacted me afterwards complaining that the front wheels were clicking when using the rumble seat. So she asked for the original owner's info to try to get the warranty info... not sure if she was successful with that, but she tried. Anyway, just know that you'll lose the ability to take advantage of their warranty and customer service unless the original owner agrees to pass that info on to you.

Also, if you can wait til the end of the year, they might have new Vistas for sale again for about $460... They did on Gilt and Totsy when the new models were coming out.

But otherwise, I say go for it! And check the owner's address on the bed bug registry.

I would if it was in good shape!
We only bought a Bob. Our universal infant "stroller" and maclaren umbrella were gifts.
If I could do it again I probably wouldn't have sPent too much money on a stroller. We wore Lo when she was younger and rarely put her in a stroller after we graduated her from the Infant car seat at 7 months old.
We use the umbrella stroller when we go to the mall, but she hates sitting in it and would rather walk on her own.
We have #2 on the way so I'm gonna try to get a lotta use out of our strollers before i sell them!

I wouldn't buy a stroller used myself, but only because we were only interested in a travel system and I wouldn't feel comfortable buying a used carseat. Besides, for the huge money they're asking for these used "designer" (I've never understood how this actually makes them better...) strollers you could get a brand new travel system from Eddie Bauer, Graco, etc. For the record we bought an Eddie Bauer system for $300 CAD, but have yet to use it yet as LO is still en route ;)

You're so lucky you have a great resource in CL though- pottery barn furniture would be nice!

@lydg: I believe it! I never really found anything on CL before we lived here, but SoFLo is pretty amazing with the stuff people have and end up getting rid of! We got Harper's crib and dresser from a woman in Miami on CL, and it was PB and in perfect condition and we practically stole it bc the price was so great:)

@MamaMoose: That is a really good price! I am leaning toward the UppaBaby because you can use the rumbler thingy and make it a double stroller...We plan on TTC #2 within a year of LO's birth, so that is a plus. Do you love your Uppababy? I have read reviews about the rumbler that say that it has to face the wrong way, and so toddlers that like to "see" will get annoyed with it. Any experience?

Where we live, there are a lot of very wealthy nearby areas (Fort Lauderdale/Miami/Boca Raton), and I have noticed that the loot on craigslist is AWESOME here. When we moved, I got tons of Pottery Barn furniture from CL, and in general, when lots of wealthy people have to give up their expensive stuff, I guess it ends up on there!

I have noticed that there are a lot of BugaBoos and Uppababys on CL, and I"m not talking used and abused. It seems that they are usually in barely-used, excellent condition....Many of them also come with loads of accessories too. And most of them are in the $400 range.

Would you purchase a second-hand stroller?

I'm thinking about doing it. The only issue that worries me is that my BFF told me that they are just too hard to clean/disinfect totally and there are germs you'll never get to. Then I read Mrs. Bee's bedbug blog post, and that kind of grossed me out with thinking about how yuck stuff can easily not be visible.

BUT a lot of these seem like they're in really nice condition....What do you think?

Here's an example, and there are a ton of these:
http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/bab/3073764926.html
