But I don't see myself ever being able to afford to live in my home town 8-/ Most of the people that move there now are VERY wealthy. I was floored. A teacher actually introduced her little sister (who was in the 4th grade at the time) and said "this is ___. Its a great place to raise kids. I'm one of those people that left home and now can't wait to get back (even though I'm only an hour away). The one thing that does bug me is the close minded-ness nature of the area. I recently found out some things that happened in our school system (racism, hatred towards homosexuality) which I was unaware of when I was in high school. But honestly, in this area of the country that's so common basically anywhere you go. There are walking trails, and great schools. Lots of tennis courts and swimming pools too, all public. But I wouldn't want my LOs to grow up there, because I didn't feel like the town was that open minded about a range of things. So I'd rather have our kids grow up somewhere where they can be exposed to a wider range of thought. Would you raise your LO in your hometown?
