I didn't know you weren't supposed to until he was close to outgrowing it. I look silly, but honestly sometimes I didn't have a choice. It wasn't secure at all. Maybe my bucket seat was shaped weird?!?</p> <p>But I grew up always mowing the lawn on my dads lap!!!
