I LOVE our newborn pictures and I like being able to remember how teensy weensy he was once (definitely not anymore!) but I would love some pictures that capture his little boy personality that has come out now (5 months old today). We were there for 3.5 hours, and they turned out great. She did some family pictures, and I think they turned out great. The first few days were so chaotic for me. I was exhausted, had PPD, my milk hadn't come in, and I was just overall stressed. I didn't have time to savor how little my LO was nor did I take the time to take too many pictures. At six months, we had settled into a routine, I was more comfortable with my role as a mother and subsequently had more time. I took newborn photos myself but waited a bit too long (2 weeks old and I should have done them a day or two after we got home from the hospital when I had my husband's help and baby was more sleepy). However, I still don't regret not having professional newborn photos. We had 3 and 6 month photos taken at Target and were very happy with all of them. We did a few family photos at the 6 month shoot and they came out great. We took great photos of them ourselves, and the traditional newborn shots weren't really our thing.</p> <p>At 6+ months, our kids really look like 'themselves', and we are so much more sane overall. They can sit up really solidly too, which would be helpful for photos I'd think.
