Even if it's just to clarify what their policy is. As in, "is it policy to not include all costs in the estimate?" You can just frame it as getting knowledge for future visits. I agree it looks like they only quoted the procedure price and not all the stuff that goes along with it. Sometimes that will give you a clue. If they needed to do an extra X-ray or ultrasound guidance, it can be a big bump in cost. Before the surgery, I was twice quoted a price of $350, depending on the amount of anesthesia needed. So I was expecting +/- $100.</p> <p>Well, my FIL (who took our dog for surgery since dh and I were working) brought the receipt home, and it was almost $700! Almost double our original quoted price.</p> <p>I'm more irked than anything - why quote a price if the final cost isn't going to be anywhere near it? We have to take him back next week to get the stitches out and I'm tempted to say something when I take him. Dh thinks we should just let it go. </p> <p>WWYD? </p>
