So for me, the best part of a gift would be having something that would save me time. Having snacks on hand and a meal ready to go later would do that. That way they can use it when they are ready or when they are in real need. Throwing in a couple small items like a nice water bottle and a small bottle of lotion or a little tote bag might be nice too. I had a NICU baby and after I was discharged, I commuted back and forth to the hospital to be with LO as much as possible and I carried a bag of stuff with me, including my pump stuff, a folder and notebook, a water bottle, and easy to eat snacks like granola bars. DH and I ate by the hospital and ordered take out too. Would you send food (gift basket with both snacky items and a meal) to them at the hospital or send a gift for the babies to the house? My husband and I have different opinions and we will probably only do one of the two due to cost. </p>
