I actually probably wouldn't because the kids pick up on the unhappiness and I wouldn't want to jeopardize their happiness. If I was somehow so unlucky as to not have custody of them, I would at least try to work with my SO to make some sort of deal on the side so I could at least be the one to pick them up from school everyday or something. I have an aunt who has an awful marriage and she's very open about the fact that she is only with him bc she's scared that her husband would take their son away, legally or illegally. I can understand that because I can't imagine not seeing Charlie and Olive every day. When I was in the hospital with Olive for a week, I felt like Charlie changed so much!</p> <p>It's usually the moms who get main custody, but if your SO did and you could only see your LO on the weekends, would you stay in an unhappy marriage to be able to see your kids? </p>
