My LO had shots while sick before. We were there for well-visit, and he was recovering from pneumonia. I asked the pedi if it was ok to give shots, and she said after examining him that he would be ok, and he was!

I would ask the doctor and see what she said. IF she recommended for us to wait then we would wait

@travelgirl1: I asked our doctor when we went in for a sick visit a week before his scheduled 4 month shots. Our doc said it was okay to bring him in for shots. My LO did really well with the shots despite the cough.

I just called and they said as long as she doesn't have a fever it was okay so I think we'll take her but ask that they just do the health check bits and maybe postpone the shots....it also depends how she copes with the ultrasound etc first. Ahhh I wish I knew all the right answers!!!

I don't know how, but we've lucked out each time and she was healthy for each visit (which is crazy, considering how sick she is with daycare). But, the doctor said that they would still give them shots with a cold, as long as they don't have a fever.

I actually just called about this! LO 4 month is Wednesday, they said they want to see her anyway for the well baby part and after checking her out will determine if she gets shots or waits a week. I'd call and see what they say!

I think they recommend not, can you call and ask and see what they want to do? Maybe you could reschedule for early next week.

They may not give some shots if your LO is sick. I think they won't give a flu shot if your LO is sick, not sure about other shots.

A has a cold, it's not a bad one but she's bunged up and sneezy. Her two month jabs are on Friday and they were already pushed back because she had some other treatment that we didn't want to pile on her all at once. Would you still take her for jabs if she's sick? Or postpone again? On Friday we also have to take her for another ultrasound and check with the orthopedic surgeon, and I think the physio will see her too so she's in for a pretty crappy Friday : (
