I'd go without her. I would want to let loose and have a drink and not worry about keeping a child happy all night.

I took our son to a wedding when he was eleven months old, and it was.... fine. He was cute and sweet and everyone cooed at him, which was fun, but I definitely felt the pressure of keeping him happy and entertained the whole time. Now that he's two, there is no way I would take him. But, your two-year-old might be more mellow? If you think she'd be happy to hang out with you (and you want an excuse to leave a little early), then go for it.

We went to a wedding a while ago. We traveled to be there and it was really important to my DHs family that we be there. It was in the evening, the had super fancy set ups that my kids would break, there was no food until 8. I smiled and did my best to keep the kids calm. At the time my boys were three and my daughter was just shy of one. From my stand point it was a bit of a disaster and the kids were getting cranky but as soon as they feed us I excused our family and we left. Not fun for me but it meant a lot to the family so I don't regret it.

I would personally take her if you think she will have a good time (and therefore you will have a good time too)!! The one wedding we took Wagon Jr. to, we planned on leaving early, but we stayed til 9:30pm because he was having such a great time and didn't melt down. His cousins (1 year and 3 years older than him) were both sleeping in the lobby and he was dancing on a chair watching the band! Finally we decided to quit while we were ahead and leave... we buckled him into the carseat, and by the time Wagon Sr. turned around to back the car out of the space he was asleep. LOL.

I wouldn't take MY 2yo, but I'd consider it depending on if she was invited, how far it is, and what kind of day she had.

I think it depends on the wedding. Like is this a wedding you REALLY want to go to or is it like your hubby's coworker's wedding?

Personally, I would leave the LO at home and enjoy a night out with the hubby!

I wouldn't enjoy it with a 2 year old. Plus you can have an excuse to leave early by saying "better get back to the sitter.." or whatever.
I personally wouldn't take my kids to anything like that though, ever. I just don't think the kids would enjoy it.

I would leave her with a sitter for one night, even bedtime; one wild & crazy bedtime won't kill her, and she may go to sleep easier than you think (I feel like even little ones get that babysitter isn't Mom/Dad and adjust their behavior). You deserve a night out!

I would totally take DD. We went to a wedding right before DD turned and she had so much fun! I wish DS was a little older so we could have stayed longer because she was the life of the party! The groom's parents actually offered to drop her off at our hotel later so she could stay, but we didn't feel comfortable with that.

I wouldn't. Go have a fun night out! DD gave MIL a hard time on our first night out but it didn't mess up her routine and she went to sleep eventually. Plus I think the bride would appreciate you being at both events

We're going to a wedding in April and I'm debating whether we should take DD.
Ceremony starts at 6pm.
When DD naps, she doesn't sleep til 8-8:30. If she doesn't nap, she's out by 6:30.

She likes going to bed with me and she may give our sitter a hard time (or the sitter may have a hard time putting her down).

If I decide to leave her, I'll put her down and then leave for the wedding. Will probably miss the ceremony and make it for the reception only.

If I take her, I'm sure we'll have a good time and we'll have an excuse to leave early. lol. What would you do?
