We're doing this in August. We've got to fly to Ohio for a Friday night wedding; DD will be just over 3 and DS will be 18 months. Our kids have been to a ton of weddings, so I'm not worried at all. If we need to leave early, the kids and I will go back to the hotel and DH will stay until it's over.

If the couple wanted them there I would! That is really sweet they asked them to come! I think Charlie and Olive will do great and look adorable in their wedding attire :)

We're hopefully taking A to a 5pm wedding in Spain in August when she'll be nine months old. It's the family's 6th evening wedding in Spain and the kids of all ages always do well. The babies tend to go to sleep in their strollers and the toddlers dance a bit then sleep at about 10/11pm on a chair or something. So yes, I would take them.

I wouldn't do it, but that's just because it doesn't sound like a fun time for me and my husband. I'm all about grown up nights outs and there has been very little of that since baby.

@T-Mom: we might be able to get her to sleep in the stroller. she doesn't always fall asleep though so we can't count on it. but we usually wake her up from naps. if we let her nap as long as she wants, we could probably push her bedtime to 9-9:30. Assuming naps go well while we're traveling of course!

I'm in the same predicament, except the groom is my brother and we all have to be there. It's a 5:30 wedding and 7pm reception. My brother has graciously set a room up for us at the hotel, so we plan to just bow out of the reception early with one (or both) of the kids. Does Olive sleep in the stroller? I thought about getting DS to sleep and then leaving him in the stroller during the reception. But that seems kind of sad..

If the couple wanted them there I def would!

I think your kids are well behaved and will do well at a wedding! Growing up we went to weddings young ALL the time! :)

ETA: @T-Mom's post reminded me. Husband's nieces were just about the same age as Olive & Charlie at our wedding. They were both in our wedding party and did fantastic! Including the day starting early due bridal games. :) I think they caught a nap in between that and ceremony starting. :)

We've been invited to a 5pm wedding this summer and the couple really want Charlie and Olive to attend. If we mess with their naps, they should be ok staying up. Olive til maybe 9, and Charlie probably until it ends.

The alternative is me leaving the wedding after the ceremony to put Olive down. Charlie is fine to stay up.

Would you take them to a wedding if they weren't overtired, and the couple wanted them there?
