Just be prepared to not vacation like you did before. For me, this meant not taking as many pics with my SLR as I would've liked.</p> <p>We did bring it, and I'm glad for the shots I got on there, but some of my better shots were from my iPhone and point &amp; shoot anyway. I'm not sure the SLR was worth bringing.</p> <p>Although, this might be an option for you... I brought it along with the nifty fifty (50mm 1.8) only... that made it pretty compact... It's not the ideal travel lens, but I wasn't worried about damaging an expensive lens.</p> <p>In the end, I do think it was nice to *not* shoot from the SLR so much... Mind you, I don't own a smart phone, so I am probably biased :) I have a slim point &amp; shoot that takes good pictures (nothing mindblowing) and is lightweight enough that it doesn't annoy me to carry it. My friends brought a DSLR, but since we spent most of our time at the pool and beach, they left it in their room 99% of the time and we just used my iPhone. The pictures were fine for putting on Facebook/viewing on the computer. I didn't try to print any though.</p> <p>For our trip to the Czech Republic in two weeks I still don't know what I want to do.... Our point and shoot takes crappy photos. We don't have a DSLR but my in-laws said we could borrow theirs but I really don't want to be lugging a huge camera around.... </p>
