@pui: Thanks! It was a wonderful surprise!

@LindsayInNYC: From April to December, my cycles ranged from 23 to 60 days. I had a Dr. appointment in December and he did blood work and an ultrasound and told me everything came back 100% normal. He suggested I chart to make sure I ovulate.

After I passed CD 15, then CD20 with no temp spike, I was starting to think I never ovulate. But when I got crosshairs on CD 26, I was so relieved. However, DH and I really didn't BD a lot that week because I wasn't expecting to O, so I didn't think we had a chance at being pregnant.

14 days later, when my temp didn't drop, I decided to POAS for the heck of it. I was pretty shocked to get a BFP, but very excited!

Good luck to you!!

@TJBee: Yikes! Hopefully mine starts to regularly... First cycle was 40-something days, 2nd was 63 (!!), this past was 32 days. I'm hoping that's a sign that it's starting to normalize... I started charting during the middle of my 2nd cycle and have been using OPKs to try and confirm when I'm actually Oing. It seems to be helping?

@LindsayInNYC: I know this post was 3 months ago, but I just saw you asked me a question and I wanted to answer.
After 7 months off BC, my cycle never regulated. My last cycle (in December) was 59 days.
I started charting after that cycle, and ended up finding out I ovulated on CD 26 got a BFP in January, on CD 40.
So I'm now 16w5d!

@TJBee - I'm in a similar boat (hence reading really old posts!). It's my first cycle post-BC. I'm on day 32 or so with no sign of AF in sight. I POAS but it was either negative or I can't read it. How long did it take your cycles to regulate?

@TJBee: I'm in the same boat where I am waiting for my first period since getting off BC to show up. I also was on BC for 13 years although my cycles were pretty regular pre-BC. My last cycle on BC was a little wonky in that I think I had breakthrough bleeding the week before my placebo pill and since I didn't get my period during the placebo week, I think I am going to count that as my period last cycle. Which means that I am CD 32. I tested on CD 30 and got a BFN but still no period in sight. At least you can start officially at CD 1. Good luck!!

I didn't get AF for almost 3 months after stopping BC. I think I took about 4 tests in that time period!? Haha. It's up to you if you want to test, but it sounds like your body is just taking some time to regulate, which is very common.

@Modern Daisy: I think I'll do the same! I would probably have been more prone to test if DH and I had been trying this cycle, but we were actively avoiding because we were on vacation last week and I didn't want to be KU, so probably next month I'll be more eager to POAS.
I should actually be pretty excited. The fact that I had no PMS symptoms is really nice. I remember before I started BC, I would have cramps for days. I guess I should be grateful!

I just went through this myself! My first cycle off BC was 64 days so I was super confused about when to test. We weren't actually trying though, I just wanted to know if I should stop drinking lol!

I only used one test that I had already and was expired at about CD 30, for no particular reason. Since they're so expensive I decided not to buy any more until I felt some kind of symptom and stuck with it until I finally got AF. Looking forward, I think I will do the same until my body regulates to a more normal cycle. I never had normal cycles since I started taking the pill after my first period 16 years ago.

AF arrived just as I was rushing to a meeting this morning. God I miss BC and KNOWING when its gonna show. But at least I'm officially CD1 again :)

@TJBee: Charting never worked for me for the same reasons. To me it just wasn't worth the stress it caused me. I started using OPKs though and that was great for me.

Thanks for the advice, Bees. I may pick up a few dollar store tests on the way home to have around. Maybe I'll sneak one this weekend if AF is still MIA. I'm guessing it's probably just my body regulating, but you can never be too sure!

@Shimmer: Thanks for the advice! I tried charting for a few weeks, and it was just not right for me. It caused me too much stress to try to be up at the same time every day (especially weekends) and with traveling a lot for work and vacation, it didn't work out. I'll definitely consider it in a few months if things are still really off.

@TJBee: You can test with dollar store tests just to be sure... but my first cycle off of BC after 10 years was 49 days long... they gradually shortened down to normal cycles within about 4-5 cycles. But that's just me!

I don't know if you're TTC or TTA, but charting can be a huge help. I loved knowing what my body was doing when. I wish I had started earlier when my cycles were weird!

hmhh... well I would say in that case it doesn't seem totally unlikely that your cycle is just taking a long time to regulate. But just in case I would buy cheapo tests and test once a week until you get a BFP or your period. That way you know for sure if you need to quit drinking and call the doctor : )

@MamaMoose: I had very irregular cycles before I went on BC 13 years ago. I think I probably only got my period once every 3-4 months, but I was a serious dancer and had a very low BMI - both of which are no longer the case, so I'm hoping for it to be more regular this time around.

I'm CD 40 on my first cycle off BC. However, I have no symptoms at all of either being pregnant or PMSing. The only thing I've noticed in the past 1-2 days is that my (already small) boobs seem to be getting smaller?!
The other thing is that I 'think' I noticed EWCM around CD 15 and DH and I used protection between that time and CD 28, so I really don't think there's a chance I'm KU.
Just wondering if/when I should try testing just in case....
