Not crazy about either of them, but I don't really care about highchairs haha it's not something I would spend much on. I just got a space saving one that sits on a dining chair. If I had to choose, I'd probably go for the wooden one.

Neither. My son fell out of a friends TT with the harness at 12 months. We just use boosters (fp and prince lionheart) and I like that when they are pushed in it just looks like a regular chair. I have major climbers, so stand alone chairs are too dangerous for us.

Not sure about flair but I voted flair cuz I just don't like the Tripp trapp. I have two and it's a horrible design for toddlers. Not buying another one for my baby.

We have the Boon Flair. I like that it is super easy to clean and that i can raise and lower it depending on the situation. I also wheel it around sometimes so that LO can watch me prep in the kitchen.

@loveisstrange: Me neither! I'd definitely go for easy to clean...it's not like the majority of people with kids have spectacularly stylish and immaculate houses... Or at least not the ones I know! (Eta I meant while the kids are babies.)

eta again. We use the FP booster seat, just to give you an idea who you're talking to. ;)

We have the Tripp trapp and I love it!! It looks like a regular chair instead of a plastic monstrosity like most high chairs.

@Anagram: Yeah I guess that's a bonus for our hook on chair-- I put a table cloth under the chair and can just dump all the food into the garbage and wipe it up. However, the stupid chair itself is such a pain to clean. The poppy and flair both look so nice and simple to wipe down.

My ideal chair would be the poppy chair piece, but as a hook on, instead of the legs. A girl can dream... about high chairs.

@Foodnerd81: yeah, that's one thing you don't have to worry about with a clip on chair! The wide base of the Flair annoys me because LO throws food down and I have to clean it after every meal. But I guess that's less I have to clean from the floor?

@Anagram: The lift went out on our Flair two days after we got it home, and I was so annoyed! I love the way it looks though!

@Anagram: @Foodnerd81: I'm kind of obsessed with our Poppy. The base does take up some room, but the footprint is smaller when you shorten the legs to make it a toddler chair. We do that and scoot him up to the table sometimes now!

@Anagram: Weirdos. But my DH actually did have a point-- we thought we could trip or stub our toes on it, and since they were so spindly, it would be harder to avoid. Or something.

@Anagram: @grizz: So funny-- DH's exact objection to the Poppy was the "spindly legs". Mostly, we were worried about tripping over them, though, because our space is pretty small. I love the look of the chair part itself-- it looks so simple and easy to clean. But the footprint was too large for us :(

I think after looking at the pics and my house, I'll just keep my Flair.

I feel like the Tripp Trapp is better for people who like Mission or farmhouse type decor and that's not really my style. And I like that the flair moves up and down and has wheels, because we wheel it different places, from the kitchen to our dining table.

This is our place. I think a wooden high chair won't fit as well. The tripp trapp is cute though!

@Anagram: can't you raise the flair pretty high, like to a counter? I didn't research it much but it seemed like the flair could be raised to the level of a counter height breakfast bar. Most of the others, Tripp trapp included, are too low. We don't have a table, just an island with stools, and I wanted something where c could sit with us. (We got a hook on chair instead).

I prefer the look of the Tripp trapp, personally.

We have a Tripp Trapp but I'm thinking of getting the Flair because I don't want to deal with all the extras I have to get. I guess the plastic part doesn't bother me since we have Panton chairs at that table so it would blend right in.

Our house is definitely on the modern side, and we have 0 wood right now in our living/dining space. Our temporary dining table is glass and chrome and our barstools are chrome and leather.

But I know someone who is unhappy with her Tripp Trapp and wants a Flair. And I have a Flair that I don't really care about, one way or the other, and I was thinking about suggesting a trade.

But now I'm thinking it probably won't match our decor. Hmmm....

The trip trapp just looks better. I have no desire to put a big plastic chair in my dining room. I don't care how functional or easy to clean that it is. Plus, the stokke is a chair you can keep forever.
