If it was a family reunion or special wedding or something like that, where you felt the need to be there I would totally grab the bug spray and go. My doctor is not at all an alarmist and she said the reports she was hearing were so scary that I should def cancel. July is still far out enough that hopefully you'll be able to find an alternate beach vacation or getaway! I know I've been to the Gulf Coast area in July (near Mobile, AL) and the mosquitos were awful in the evening. </p> <p>That said, we have had a trip planned to FL for months and aren't canceling it (booked way before I was pregnant). I haven't been to FL in years but the three times I have been out there I don't remember ever getting a mosquito bite or seeing mosquitos. People tell me it's because all the major tourist areas spray so heavily. I'm nervous for sure but trying to stay calm about it. We're going in a week and so far everything I've read say all the confirmed cases of Zika in FL are people who traveled outside the US in affected areas. So I would consider going and cancelling if needed.
