With any new friendship, start slow and small and see how it goes. Maybe ask them over for a drink after work on Friday. Or you can ask the girl to go grocery shopping with you or something, since you live in the same building and probably shop at the same store.</p> <p>I think that it's tough to live so close to your friends, exactly for reasons like this. Whenever he had free time, we wanted to hang out just the two of us! But now we really want to try to rekindle our friendships and make more friends.</p> <p>There's a married couple that live in our apartment building that we really like. They are actually good friends with a few of our friends that have since moved away, and everyone seems to think they are awesome. We'd like to start "couple friend" hanging out with them, buuuuut...</p> <p>About six months ago, my DH &amp; I got into a huge blow-up fight. It was probably the biggest fight we've ever had. I stormed out of the house, slamming the door and shouting at him, "You're a f---ing fraud!!!" That was definitely an extreme reaction, one I am not proud of and don't plan to repeat. Of course, they were walking right by our door as this happened. I was obviously mortified and at the time hoped to never see them again.</p> <p>DH says that they are married and they understand couples have fights, and that they probably don't care or have even forgotten, and that we shouldn't let that keep us from asking them to hang out. We've run into them since then and they are never awkward, but I wonder if it would be weird for us to try to befriend them? Would you? </p>
