Sure, if that's all there was. I'm the opposite of most others here though - would want to avoid conversation! I like pumping to be my quiet time, its not always relaxing but at least there is not a lot going on around me. I would get annoyed if ppl were trying to talk to me all the time.

I did this, no curtains, I feel like I probably used a cover if someone else was there but I can't remember. I did use a cover at the NICU with plexiglass walls and/or other families 2' away!

I would have no issue with this but I also pumped in my son's hospital room (even the PICU with it's plexiglass walls) without a cover, so I basically have no shame when it comes to pumping. I had conversations with doctors while pumping and they didn't notice until well into the conversation. Oh well. They'd all seen boobs before.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Curtains would be nice but if the room didn't have them, so be it...everyone there is in the same boat, right?

I would! Pumping is boring; why not enjoy the company? Luckily I just pump in my office though and am able to work while I do so.

I work at a large office, and there is a mother's room on the bottom floor. 90% work in cubicles, and take metro into work since there's no parking provided and its downtown DC. It's either that or the bathroom :bummed:

At the last hospital I worked at, employees were allowed to pump in the NICU pumping lounge. I was almost never alone in there. Some women used screens, but most of us were ok with being out in the open. Most of us used covers (myself included) but a few let it all hang out there! It was a comfortable, low-lit room (couches and cushy rocking chairs), and it was actually really nice to have conversation - I think it helped take my mind off what I was doing, and I really think it contributed to my excellent supply!

@snowjewelz: everyone had laptops where I worked, so there would often be three of us, pumping and typing away.

If i had to, I would and bring a cover, but it would depend on who might be in there. I wouldn't want to use it if, say, a nearby coworker was always in there. I feel like that would just be awkward for us. Some kind of movable curtain with stand would be necessary, I'd think

If the shared room had comfy chairs facing opposite corners, or some kind of curtains, or dividers, sure! But at work, I typically wore a "real" bra all day, and totally removed it and put on my pumping bra (with my shirt off or pulled up to my neck), so that would be super awkward with coworkers there.

My reply to the post about pumping in front of other people made me wonder....
Would you use a mothers room at work that could be used by multiple people at the same time?

My previous employer had private rooms that you could book time in, as well as a shared room that you could use anytime but not necessarily alone. It was convenient and I used it often, though it wasn't as easy to relax.
