I experienced a 23 week loss earlier this year and a friend of mine sent me a text a few days before my due date letting me know she was thinking about me. It meant the world to me that someone remembered and reached out.

I agree that it isn't really a reminder, because she is definitely going to be thinking about her loss on that day anyway. A gesture is a very sweet idea.

I had a very early loss so I can't relate. I think for a later loss like that, it should be acknowledged and I think it would be appreciated.

I lost a baby last December at 22w and through the process met a girl from my high school who lost a daughter to the same chromosome disorder. On my due date in April she brought me a card and flowers and a beautiful scarf. It meant so much to me that she remembered the date because no one else did. I was happy that someone acknowledged my daughter on that day. I also had a couple of my closest girlfriends send me a text that say just to say they were thinking of me. My sisters and mom and MIL all went out to breakfast together as well to help keep my mind off things. Maybe I see things different than others who have been through a similar loss but I was happy to have people acknowledge my due date and have support from people to help me get through that time.

I would also add, your gesture probably won't be a "reminder." its not like your friend will be surprised by the date and its significance...

I think it's usually best to err on the side of saying something simple versus not saying anything at all.

I think so, yes. If she'd announced I think it would be lovely to send her something saying you were thinking of her.

I think for an early loss (having had 2) I would say no.

For a later term loss....I think it's a beautiful gesture.

My friend lost her baby during delivery. I'm not sure how things might have been different if she lost her during her pregnancy, but I sent her a card on the anniversary (just an blank card with an illustration and then I wrote a note inside) and a small painting I made. She wrote the sweetest card back saying how much she appreciated it. I know everyone is different and it is a tough situation. So sorry you are in a situation to have to ask this question

Sorry, I wrote that before fully reading!

I would love someone to remember the due date of our lost baby, but we miscarried at eight weeks. I can't speak for someone who had lost so far into the pregnancy. Do you think she will mark the occasion herself? If so, she would probably appreciate your thought.

If you lost a baby midway into your pregnancy (after you had announced, planned the baby shower, started setting up the nursery), would you want someone to remember your baby's due date? Would you want someone to send you a card and say they are thinking of you?
