The hospital didn't admit me until the afternoon, so I took a shower, did my hair, and put on a little bit of makeup. I also painted my nails! You won't want to do that stuff for a bit after the baby comes, so you might as well. I had a day full of meetings scheduled after the procedure, so of course I had on makeup (I happened to have done a nice winged liner that day) and I had blown out my hair. Everyone remarks how "glamorous" I look in my baby's first photos...I actually feel a bit embarrassed about it as the winged liner is a bit much! Hello - that is a perk of a scheduled c section! I wore the same amount of makeup I wear to work - nothing crazy. I also dried and straightened my hair. My pre-op didn't say anything about not wearing makeup. It said no deodorant, lotion, wash with antibacterial soap. With my 2nd, it was planned but bumped up unexpectedly. I went in for an appointment and was dressed for work. They sent me over to the hospital and had me clean up. No one said anything about taking my makeup off. Unless, you wear a TON of makeup, I think the doctors and nurses will be able to see if your coloring has changed. At one point, my blood pressure dropped. They knew from my face and the monitors. </p>
