We could actually live comfortably off of my husband's income, but in order to pay for private school, someone needs to contribute a significant percentage of our household income to our budget. For us, the public schools in our area are less than desirable and we disagree with some of the state and county educational laws; so a private school is our best bet for getting what we want for the kids.</p> <p>Also my husband works full time and does side jobs, right now. She told me that if she had known then what she knew now about education she would've done it in a heartbeat. My dad paid G's tuition for pre-k, kinder, &amp; 1st grade. Now we homeschool &amp; a year's worth of "school" is about 2 months worth tuition.</p> <p>ETA: Sending G to private school wasn't *just* about the educational aspect, but also environmental.
