we never co-slept, but sometimes, for naptimes, especially early on when i was trying to get them to sleep, i'd get them asleep and lay them on top of my chest. i do miss cuddly times but i'm in the position where i'm trying to get them to sleep on their own in the crib and it's a hard battle.... i hope they're more cuddly when they're a little older!

He sleeps in his crib all night but the last time he gets me up, usually around 5 or6a, I bring him to bed with me and put him on his tummy and he just sleeps on my chest for a couple hours.

DD still likes to cosleep but we coslept with her until 11 months. DS is too much of a roly poly to sleep with us right now; he's all over the bed! I hope once he gets older and settles down a bit cosleeping will be good for us again.

Our LO cosleeps starting at 6 months and he is now 17 months old. We did it less for cuddles and more to reverse cycle and me get some sleep. Sometimes it is great and cuddly and sometimes, he wants to nurse constantly. This is hard when I just want to sleep. And we disturb each other. I'm hopeful that my next will cosleep but I'm not sure.

@skibobrown: yeah he used to do that!! I would bring him into my bed around 4-5am when he had his early morning feeding, and we'd sleep til about 8 then "play" in bed. But once we sleep trained him, he stopped doing that.

@stargal: I know! I miss that too. He always slept on me. soo sweet. now he wouldn't fit lol

@Andrea: well he definitely slept better with us in the early months. But once we ditched the swaddle and he was in his crib, he started stretching out and rolling over and now I think he likes his space.

In some families I do think that cosleeping is the best option for them; I know some families that practice the family bed and even the family room (older child sleeps in the room and the youngest in their bed) and that's great for them.

My LO is a huge cuddler/snuggler but not a fan of cosleeping...girlfriend likes her space. Sometimes I try to keep her in bed with me but she likes to move around and stretch so it doesn't work too well :(

My son loved cosleeping with us even though we didn't do it often when he was a baby. Now, he would sleep in our bed full time if he had a choice. My daughter never liked cosleeping even when she's sick. She doesn't even like cuddling all that much. I am happy that she is independent but I miss the baby cuddles.

My daughter sleeps in her crib for most of the night, but the only way to keep her asleep past 5 AM is to bring her into bed with us. I love my snuggly baby time in the morning, and I get to wake up to my sweet daughter around 7:30 AM on most mornings. ...She wakes up by "chatting" and kicking me in the side ;-)

Only for the first week or so. DD was never a fan of co-sleeping. I think that is fine for the long run. I think everyone sleeps better if they have their own space. But there are some nights when I "miss" her after she has gone to bed and I am tempted to crawl into her twin bed and cuddle!

My baby won't even co sleep with me :( It makes me sad. He just woke up an hour ago and I nursed him for about 20 minutes and he was mostly asleep, I wanted to snuggle with him, but as soon as I popped him off my boob he was putting his face and hands down my bra again, then getting mad. But the moment I put him in his crib, he rolls over and goes to sleep.

It's not the first time this has happened either. Some nights I just "miss him" and wouldn't mind losing a little sleep to enjoy some cuddle times with my sweet boy... but he won't sleep otherwise. (sadness)

I do like that he is independent and likes his space to sleep; but I also want to cherish this special short time of his life...

does your LO sleep with you; would they even let you?
